Damla Can Koç

DAMLA CAN KOÇ
She was born in Ankara in 1985. She completed her elementary and secondary education at TED Ankara College. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree, her Master’s Degree, and her Doctorate at the Department of Fine Arts Education of Gazi University in 2006, 2013, and 2017, respectively. Her Master’s Degree focused on ‘The Reflections of Cultural Characteristics on Paintings and Education in Children (aged 9 to 12) Attending Pakistan Embassy International Study Group’. Her doctoral dissertation was on ‘A Review on the Works of Art of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Nuri Iyem, Neset Günal, Mehmet Pesen, Nedret Sekban in Terms of Structure Categories and their Contributions to Arts Education’. In addition, she delivered a Seminar on ‘The Effects of Popular Culture on Arts Education’ at the Department of Fine Arts Education of Gazi University. In 2013, she illustrated ‘Nova’s Adventure: Crossing the Ocean’, a children’s book authored by Dee Lount. She taught IGCSE (400) and A-Level (9704) Arts and Design at Pakistan Embassy International Student Group between 2006 and 2016. In addition, she worked as an art teacher at various private arts education organizations. She attended Artist Adnan Turani’s workshop between 2009 and 2015. Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Fine Arts of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University and continues with her artistic endeavours at her own workshop.
